Nelson Adams

Age 13

Hi my name is Nelson and this quote means to me that we need to respect the place that we live in, the place where we call our homes. We need to start taking care of this Earth and build each other up so people could just have an interest in trying to create something new, something better, something beautiful. We need to come together and stop all this division and take care of each other. We have been so divided and so separated that we have gotten so used to not being with each other and the world just has to learn to come together. What happened with Flint and the water crisis we never got a chance to get over that, we just learned to deal with it, and now since the corona wave started it just added another layer on top of it and it’s going to take a little bit of everything. If I were president I would help fund protests and the major one I would fund is the BLM movement. I would also help fund for the coronavirus cure. Some of my hobbies are singing, dancing, making stuff, and riding my bike, playing with my dog.

Inspirational Song

Spoken Word

You must teach your children that the ground beneath their feet is the ashes of your grandfathers. Tell your children that the earth is rich….The earth is our mother. Whatever befalls the earth befalls the sons of the earth. If men spit upon the ground, they spit upon themselves

Native American Scriptures
My name is Langston Hughes and in this poem, I declared that patriotism is not limited by race. I described the unceasing racial discrimination in America through the perspective of an African American servant who is not allowed to sit at the table. But there will be a time tomorrow when blacks will sit at the table by the side of white Americans, who will be ‘ashamed’ for the way they have treated us….their ‘darker brother’ for centuries.

I am the darker brother. They send me to eat in the kitchen When company comes, But I laugh, And eat well, And grow strong. Tomorrow, I’ll be at the table When company comes. Nobody’ll dare Say to me, “Eat in the kitchen,” Then. Besides, They’ll see how beautiful I am And be ashamed— I, too, am America. I, too, am America. I, too, am America.
